Following on from their successful launch last year, the Awards for Excellence 2011-12 continue to celebrate and promote good practice in the self storage industry.

They reward companies that strive for excellence in each of the following ten categories:

The Award for Excellence in Customer Service

Awarded for consistently positive relations with customers, including speed and quality of response to email enquiries, telephone manner, and client feedback.

The Award for Storage Facility Design

Awarded for architectural design (exterior and interior) that is attractive, innovative, sympathetic to its locality, and efficient for users.

The Award for Website Design

Awarded for a company website that is attractive to look at, easy to use, and rich in effective content.

The Award for Social Media Integration

Awarded for innovative and effective use of social media websites, including twitter and Facebook.

The Award for Environmental Awareness

Awarded for initiatives that seek to minimise the impacts of self storage upon the environment, which could involve building, power supply, landscaping, packaging, or siting for public transport.

The Award for Pricing Transparency

Awarded to firms who put prices on their websites. Assessed for simplicity, accessibility and clarity.

The Award for Promotional films

Awarded for the most informative, original and entertaining films found on storage company websites. 

The Award for Packaging retail

Awarded for online box shops that are well-designed and easy to use, whilst also giving the customer value for money.

The Award for Self Storage Photography

Awarded for artistic merit in photographs portraying the self storage industry.

These may include buildings as well as people. Submitting a photograph implies permission for to reproduce it on the website.

The Award for Thinking Outside the Box

Awarded for an innovation which has changed any aspect of self storage, making it more efficient for customers or taking it in new directions.
