90% of UK self storage centres predict 2011 will be better than 2010
90% of UK self storage centres think 2011 will be a better year for their business than 2010, according to respondents to an email survey run by comparison website Storage.co.uk.
This result indicates that a high level of optimism persists among UK self storage companies, despite the economic downturn, with only 10% of respondents saying they thought things would get worse in 2011.
People who run small-business, and who operate most of the UK's self storage companies, may be naturally optimistic because they have faith in their product. Others may predict an improvement because it seems that trading conditions could get much worse, with currently high levels of debt and unemployment matched by stagnant economic growth.
Several self storage companies indicated that they had only begun trading in 2010, which indicates optimism in itself, as it shows people were willing to invest in a new business at the height of the downturn.
This is the most representative survey of self storage in the UK, as virtually every self storage centre in the country was invited to take part.
Storage.co.uk is an independent advice website for people interested in renting self storage space. It provides a storage finder, how-to guide, videos and blogs covering all aspects of renting storage space.
